What can a school building do? Offer experience and knowledge not only for the mind, but the hand and body as well. Provide opportunities for children to develop their skills and personalities.
At the intersection between 1800 new apartments, a river promenade, an upper middle class villa district and the 19th century working class city district stands the last reminiscence of the proud industrial history of the river Alna.
The existing structure offers large spaces and generous skylights, suited for learning and creativity. A cut in the building reveals the sky and the river, so the river can once more become the central connection of the area.
My project is organized in a progression from intimate to large and free spaces, exposing children to different experiences, all within the safe environment of the school.
School – Transformation.
