A Collective of Hybrid Homes
Let’s explore the idea of the collective as a method to provide average families with a better home. At what point does living in a collective become more attractive than living alone for the Scandinavian single family unit?
In this project I propose an alternative to the popular single family unit home, and explore the possibilities in levels of collective living. I suggest that the benefits of the collective can outweigh the benefits of a single unit. The resulting build is a static external shell with simple materials and an independent interior that can change and evolve to the needs of the collective. From absolute collective living to collaborating row houses in grades of privacy.
