The Creation and Exploration of New Tangible Interactive Game Mechanics
Game mechanics are constructs of rules intended to produce a game or gameplay. By adding tangible and interactive objects to such mechanics, we can increase the immersive experience and the interactions with the player.
The use of technology in new ways or terms is central in developing tangible objects that catch the attention of the user, and that deliver an immersive experience. Through exploration of different sensors and electronics combined with the creation and testing of tangible and interactive objects I believe we can create engaging new game mechanics. Today we have opportunities that were not present only a few years back. Micro-controllers, sensors and other electronics are continuously getting cheaper, thus enabling designers to create and iterate products at a higher quality, speed and rate than ever before.
